The Champions League campaign continues to be a source of frustration for United, who were beaten in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night by Copenhagen to leave themselves bottom of Group A and facing an uphill battle to reach the knockout stages.

That made it nine defeats in 17 matches so far this season, with last weekend's last-gasp win over Fulham doing little to lift the mood as the struggle for consistency with performances and results goes on.

Luton held Liverpool to a draw last time out but a result at Old Trafford would mark their most significant result back in the top-flight.

A crisis is never far away for a club of Man Utd’s mammoth size, but the last couple of weeks have been particularly testing. Dumped out of the Carabao Cup by a second-string Newcastle side and bottom of their Champions League group after a collapse in Copenhagen, Erik ten Hag badly needs a positive result to curb the growing frustration in the Red Devil fanbase. For this reason, the visit of newly-promoted Luton Town to the famous Old Trafford stadium is rather well-timed.

However, Luton Town shouldn’t be completely written off. The Hatters were just minutes away from earning a famous three points against Liverpool last week. While the Reds found a late equalizer thanks to a Luis Diaz header, Luton still came away from the game having proved to their Premier League rivals that they are capable of competing at this level. They will travel up to Manchester in high spirits and eager to score another unexpected upset.

Despite the drama surrounding the club, Man Utd have won three of their last four EPL games and will be looking to continue that solid run, but Luton Town will be determined to put in a performance. Make sure you don’t miss the Man Utd vs Luton Town live stream.

It's pinch-yourself stuff for Hatters fans, after years in the lower leagues, but Rob Edwards and his players will feel they've got a real chance of getting something against a Red Devils side that are struggling.

Their stoppage-time victory at Fulham was far from convincing, while they capitulated against Copenhagen in midweek - throwing away a two-goal lead to lose 4-3, drop to the bottom of their Champions League group and pile fresh pressure on Erik ten Hag.

Luton, meanwhile, climbed out of the bottom three thanks to their 1-1 draw against Liverpool, which will have reassured them that they can compete in the top flight.

There is a long way to go, but a result away at Old Trafford could be a big boost for their survival hopes - in terms of both squad confidence and their points tally.

The games keep on coming for United after their latest dispiriting defeat in Europe at the hands of Copenhagen. Fans will want to see more commitment and quality at home to the Hatters this weekend.

Luton have shown green shoots here and there on their return to the top flight and will believe it is the best possible time to get a result at Old Trafford, despite managing only one league win so far this season.

United still have a number of players unavailable to Erik ten Hag. Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw, three stars who would almost certainly start were everyone fit, aren't in contention.

Tyrell Malacia is still injured but there is a chance Amad Diallo will return to the bench for this game, giving Ten Hag another option on the right wing. Jadon Sancho will play no role once again as he remains in exile.

There are a number of players out for Luton currently, hindering their chances of climbing away from the relegation zone. Reece Burke, Mads Juel Andersen, Daniel Potts, Amari'i Bell and Albert Sambi Lokonga are all missing for this game.

There seems to be a fair reason to back the opposition every time Man Utd take to the field this season, but there are a few reasons to think the hosts will get the three points here.

Ten Hag has to put the focus on the opening stages of the Copenhagen game, where Man Utd looked fluid and clinical before things went south. The red card changed everything and while there are still areas that need to be worked on, the Dutch coach must force his team to take the initiative and attack from the off.

Manchester United badly require three points and anything less than that against Luton Town will be disappointing. Luton Town are the 17th place in the table and have won just one match out of 11 games this season. They are one place above the relegation zone albeit on goal-difference.

On Wednesday, Manchester United gave up a two-goal lead in a breathless 4-3 Champions League loss to FC Copenhagen that turned after Marcus Rashford was shown a red card following a brace by young United striker Rasmus Hojlund.

The loss was a calamitous setback in United's hopes for last-16 qualification with Erik ten Hag's side fourth in Group A on three points with two group games still to play.
